With 2 batches of homebrew under my belt, I’m looking to do another soon. I decided to appease my SO and brew a Cherry Wheat Ale; I’ll probably do a kit again until I get comfortable enough to play with the recipes. My first batch I named what the recipe was labelled, and worked as a consultant on the 2nd batch (which ended up just being named the style of the beer). I am thinking of naming this one ‘Cereza Cerveza’ but am open to suggestions.

I’m interested in brewing a bit my self :) I’ve subscribed to a few blogs. I started as the tasting, critiquing, reviewing type. In all my hobbies though I enjoy learning as much as there is to know about the subjects. In the social context I’m working on tobacco (in all its forms smokeless and non, though im not to fond of chew or dip), alcohol (scotch, wine, and beer in particular), and poetry to name a few.
So naturaly I have a few questions:
How long have you been brewing?
Where did you learn?
How long does it take to brew?
How long will it stay good after its done?
It’s good to see a healthy blog community and some people with similar interests to my own. I just reviewed a few of Goose Island’s brews you may be interested.
Happy brewing
1) Not very long, only just started and brewed 2 5-gal batches of beer.
2) From books and consulting with my local homebrewing store. It’s actually easier than it seems.
3) About 4-5 weeks, but can take longer for stronger ales, such as barleywine style (which I haven’t brewed).
4) Several months, though I don’t intend to keep any that long :).
SO? Isn’t that a bit of a demotion for your wife? ;-)
